SteadyScreen30-Second Chair Stand assistant · prototype · not a medical device
SIMULATED DEMO — not a real person, not a real measurement. The participant, the picture and the body points are generated by the app; no camera and no pose model are used.
Before you start
For a supervising adult running the CDC STEADI 30-Second Chair Stand. The app gives the “Go”, times 30 seconds and counts full stands from the camera, so you can watch the participant. Afterwards you check each counted or doubtful rise against still images. It flags many situations where it could not measure reliably — not all of them — so every count must be checked.
What it does not do: it does not diagnose or predict falls, and it shows the CDC comparison table only after the count has been checked.
Just looking, with no chair or helper? Try the whole test with a computer-drawn simulated participant, about 2 minutes. It is labelled SIMULATED DEMO everywhere and measures no one. This button ticks the boxes below for the simulated scene and keeps still images so you can try the checks.

Loading the pose model…
Read the CDC instructions to the participant: sit in the middle of the chair, hands on the opposite shoulders crossed at the wrists, feet flat on the floor, back straight; on “Go”, rise to a full standing position, then sit back down; repeat for 30 seconds.
Participant fully visible (outlined in green)
Practice stand: stand up fully with arms crossed, hold still for about 1 second, sit down.
Sit still, arms crossed, until “GO”.
More than one person seated? Click on the participant in the picture to select them.
Was that a full stand?
Standing straight up the way this person normally stands, knees and hips straightened.

STOP at once for any safety concern, or if the participant must use their arms to stand (CDC: record 0 — answer “Yes” to the arm question afterwards). Stopping for any other reason gives no score.
